After 30+ years in corporate communications and PR for Fortune 500 clients, Mary is using her expertise to benefit small to medium sized start-ups so they get started on the right foot and avoid wasting precious time and money.
Mary spent ten years in the advertising agency business in the midwest and Southern California as a copywriter/producer for financial services, automotive and media clients.
Since starting her own marketing communications/PR business in 1989, Mary’s clients have included Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Los Angeles Daily News, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, Wescom Credit Union and Ball Aerospace.
Projects have included the full range of marketing content for specific audiences on a wide variety of platforms. Mary also co-authored and project-managed hardcover history books for two $4B credit unions.
Her nonprofit experience includes five years as Director of Communications for Braille Institute of America, Los Angeles, where she upgraded the organization’s communications function in media and community relations, graphic design, online and print. She managed a staff of six and a budget of nearly $1M.
Her aerospace industry experience includes seven years as a consultant and two as a staff member for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, supporting the James Webb Space Telescope, a NASA flagship program. For nearly four years, she was a resident contractor at Ball Aerospace and the Aerospace lead on the Ball Corporation ball.com 2.0 project to reconfigure the company’s online presence.
Mary earned a B.S. degree in Journalism from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and has done postgraduate work at the University of Southern California.
She is a certified Usui/Holy Fire II Reiki Master and a Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner.
